week 8 Wordprocessing/Spreadsheet

 This class was cool I never knew how a teacher could record her grades on the computer. This I see could be of great assistance to any teacher who would want to use technology in recording the children's grade. Using word processing will help the teacher to be more organized in keeping records clearly and accurately.  This spreadsheet can also be used to create maths worksheets for students in the classroom or teacher could use the white board and project to the white board and have children come to the board to work out problems on the board. This will help to build the children's confidence.
     

Week 7: Assured Model

 This type of teaching helps to grab young children's attention. By planning the teacher well be organized  in her thought and with her teaching materials. The age of the child will be taken into consideration as the teacher plan for the needs of the individual as well as for the group using the assured method it will be different than the ordinary way of teaching. Children can participate in the lessons. Technology will be used and modify to meet children's need. Using language that is clear and accurate so children can follow to engage in new learning experiences. Teacher will review and evaluate students as she sees fit. This form of teaching is new to me, but I think this will be a very useful way of learning. And using technology we will be able to relate to all different types of learners.



This is a sample of my lesson plan on plants.

 

Assure Lesson Plan

Topic: Plants

Teacher:  Mrs. Brade

Class: Grade 2

1)      Time: 45 mins

Subject: Science

Analyze learners: Age 7-8             

 Number of students in class 20

Type of learners: visual, kinesthetic, aural

Objectives:  Students would be able

1)      label the main  parts of the plants using a chart

2)      orally explain to the class  how plants grow, during  class discussion

3)      children will demonstrate by dramatizing how we use  plants  for food and how we use plants  for medicine.

Methods/materials/Media:

Pair group, dramatization, whole class discussion

Chart, worksheet, props

White board, projector, computer, power point presentation (in the form of a video)

Utilize:

The chart will be used to help the students to label the parts of the plants.

The power point presentation video will be used as an instructional tool to help the children see the different types of plants. It will also help them to know what they are used for: food or medicine.

Required Learners Participation:

Individually:

The students will first view the power point video on the main parts of the plant. They will then use a chart to label the parts of the plant on a worksheet. Afterwards students will be engaged in a whole class discussion on how plants grow. Finally, students in pairs will participate in a dramatization showing how we use plants.

Evaluation

Students would be observed while working individually and in groups.

 

 

 

Week 6: Podcast

       While helping my classmates to make the movie each of us had to go on the internet and research the different animals and their habitat. Using the skills in technology to save our pictures and sending the pictures to Kevon's computer was fun. Kevon then save the pictures on his computer to make the movie. Working together I must say I learned things that were very new to me. This will be an excellent source for students to create and contribute their own ideas. This lesson was great!



 

Week 5: Blogging

   Class is getting a little better for me but some of the concept taught I still do not fully understand. Not having the internet service at my house hampers me a lot, I am not able to practice things done in the class. At school the time does not afford me the privileged. I must say I have learned a lot compared to the beginning of the class. I am enjoying the classes but I have to make a strong effort to catch up and review prior lessons that was taught for my personal advancement.Classmates were very helpful.It was interesting to read a few of my friends blog for the first time. I must say thanks to my teacher Mrs. Roberts for her patience and understanding also my classmates.

Week 2: Blogging

WOW! class went well especially the power point presentations. I learned a lot from the other presenters who did an excellent job. The views of some the presenters I did not agree with but it was aneye-opener to the views of other persons. The multiple intelligences taught me a lot.

week one

Technology class was an eye opener for me, computer is a tool that can enhance our lives. I have learned a lot and have a lot more to learn. My classmates are very helpful to me as am learning how to find my way exploring and figuring out the computer. Class was very exciting!
